Vision Mission and Goals
Studio Xang’s goal is that migrant children will grow up to their full personal potential in the same capacity as non migrants, being able to improve their living and working conditions. Our objectives are:1. Provide wholesome learning opportunities for migrant children by teaching visual arts; 2. Engage parents and teachers with the art for child development method; 3. Develop migrant and refugee community’s capacity about art and child development; 4. Promote children voices and advocate for policies giving migrant children equal opportunities.
Studio Xang core values are as follows:
1. We believe in child development through visual arts and in using child centred “learning by doing” teachings methods which focus on process and quality of learning rather than on product and quantity.
2. We believe all children are equal in rights and in potential to develop wholesomely (emotionally, physically, intellectually, perceptually, creatively and socially) regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity, class and whether they are legally documented or not.
3. We believe in equal access to learning opportunities for migrant children as for non migrants.
4. We believe in nurturing multiculturalism and respecting children various cultural and linguistic backgrounds as they are.
5. Provide a safe environment for children, including children with disabilities to blossom according to their personalities.
6. We believe a non-violent approach in speech, physically, or psychologically, encourages non violent conflict resolution and benefit children’s healthy development.
